Exodus 14.10-12, 16.1-3

The days too hot, the nights too cold
no fresh water in sight
You can't live but might survive out there
the night is too dark
the sun is too bright
and you're blinded by the light

And this place of bitter-sweetness
can't have been made for man
But that is where I find myself
I'm close to losing hope
And it seems to me like a joke
when you tell me

There is a land of "milk and honey"
that we'd find if we would go
There is a place of "peace and freedom"
for our hearts and minds and souls
There is a source of "living water"
and are ways to walk on safe
and a sun that keeps on shining
with its warm and tender light

The only way out of the desert
even though you're still in fear
is to listen to that whisper
gently sounding in your ear
telling you the green grass is near
